The Daycare Ready Oral Health Certificate© is given to families to include with their child’s personal health records. It is also a keepsake that some families are happy to save from the child’s age-one visit to the dentist. Parents can display the treasured memory of this first dental experience by framing the exclusively designed certificate. Other families may choose to keep this proudly earned award safely stored in the child’s birth to age-one scrapbook.

It is recommended that parents and guardians have their child seen by a dentist as soon as the first teeth appear in the mouth. However, this first visit can even be scheduled before the child has any teeth at all. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) does recommend this appointment to be definitely scheduled by the child’s first birthday.

Families are encouraged to provide a print or an electronic copy of their child’s Daycare Ready Oral Health Certificate to the daycare provider and to the pediatrician or primary care provider. This will help to verify the beginning date of the oral and dental health care history of your child. It also confirms that a dental home has been established by the family. This is a very important exchange of information for the dentist, the physician and the daycare provider to share knowledge of for all children in their care.

This Daycare Ready Oral Health Certificate is developed by Highchair Dental Care Studios and The Children’s Oral Health Institute. The barcode records the number of certificates issued to families by this health provider.

Actual document provided at first in-person dental visit.
